Outline Descendant Report for Johann (Jean) Baptiste Steffen was compiled and written by Sister Mary Lou Geraets, PBVM, with typing by her niece, Marie Geraets Gillen.
Compilation history
In the accompanying email, Sister Mary Lou described 11 years of work on the report, covering 244 years and nine generations from December 1, 1780 to December 11, 2024.
- Charles Steffen (generation 4, page 46; deceased) began the research and traveled to Luxembourg to find records.
- James Sparks (generation 7, page 16) shared his work with Sister Mary Lou in January 2013.
- Sister Mary Roberta White, PVMI (generation 5, page 46; deceased) contributed information extending through the 1980s.
Sister Mary Lou thanked everyone who contributed and encouraged sharing the genealogy with interested family members. She noted that it may contain mistakes and omissions, including some omissions made by request.
Each record includes its original entry and PDF page. Dates and spellings are preserved; missing details were not recorded.
Relationships
Connections follow the report’s family groups, including adoption and stepchild notes. They do not establish biological parentage. Same-name entries remain separate records.
